Cabinet nod for proposal to lease buses for BMTC

The State Cabinet on Wednesday also approved the leasing of buses for the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) at a cost of ₹77 crore for 1,500 buses. This announcement was made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in this year’s annual Budget. In addition, an amount of ₹87.9 cr was also approved towards the purchase of buses for BMTC. In the Budget, the purchase of 1,500 buses by the State for use by BMTC had been announced. The Cabinet also approved the establishment of a Special Purpose Vehicle for Bengaluru Smart City Mission.
