A two-year-old boy, celebrating his birthday at his residence in Subramanya Nagar on Thursday, slipped from the terrace of the three-storey building and died.

The victim has been identified as Manish R., son of Ramesh, a cab driver and Savitha, an accountant in a private hospital. They live in a rented place on the third floor of the house in E block Rajaji Nagar.

The Subramany Nagar police have taken up a case of unnatural death. No one saw Manish going up and falling off. “Though the terrace had a railing, we assumed he was trying to climb and lost control before slipping,” an officer said.
