A 14-year-old boy committed suicide at his house after allegedly having a fight with his schoolmates in Jeevan Bima Nagar police station limits on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Naga Vinay a resident of Muniyappanahole, HAL II Stage. Vinay was found hanging on Tuesday night when his parents returned home from office.

Teased by friends

According to the police, Vinay had a fight with his schoolmates after he was teased by his friends for being too skinny when he joined the National Cadet Corps. An upset Vinay returned home after school and complained to his parents.

His father, Narasimhaiah, pacified him and promised him that he would accompany him to the school the next day to talk to his schoolmates.

On Tuesday, Vinay told his father that he was not attending school as he had a headache.

Narasimhaiah asked him to take rest and left for work. On the way, he dropped his wife, who also works in a private firm.

The couple returned home at around 9 p.m. to find Vinay hanging from a ceiling fan with a rope.

The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.

A case of unnatural death has been registered by Jeevan Bima Nagar police are investigating.

The couple have an elder son who was studying in a residential school in Tumkur, the police said.
