A huge protest by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against unfilled potholes and uncleared garbage ended up causing traffic snarls and inconveniencing the public in Majestic area on Saturday.

The BJP leaders attempted to lay siege to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike headquarters. They not only caused a traffic pile up in and around Hudson Circle, but also locked out the common man from the BBMP office.

Former Deputy Chief Minister R. Ashok, Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha MP P.C. Mohan, MLAs B.N. Vijayakumar and Aravind Limbavali were part of the protest in which BJP workers marched from Bannappa Park to the BBMP head office. As soon as they entered the palike premises, some entry points were closed by the security personnel. Those who had taken off from work to visit the BBMP office ended up being directed to other entry points, but many ending up waiting outside the compound walls.
