The Opposition BJP and JD (S) members on Tuesday commenced a night-long ‘dharna’ in the Assembly demanding a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) probe into the episode of death of IAS officer D.K. Ravi.

The ‘dharna’ plans were announced by BJP Deputy floor leader R. Ashok after Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa adjourned the House for the day.

Earlier during the day, the State government ordered Criminal Investigation Department (CID) into suspicious death of D.K. Ravi.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told the Legislative Assembly that the CID probe would be conducted into “unnatural” death of Ravi. An interim probe report would be placed before the House before end of the ongoing session.
