A day after the Congress released a 50-point “charge-sheet” highlighting the alleged scams when the BJP ruled the BBMP, the party on Wednesday hit back by listing alleged corruption cases.

Party MLC Ashwath Narayan alleged that over Rs. 5,000 crore had been swindled in the BBMP in the last 15 years when the Congress was in power in the State and civic body.

BJP MLA S. Suresh Kumar asked why the State government has not punished people involved in corruption cases over the last two years. He alleged that a case involving Congress MLA Muniratna is not making any progress.

Funds had been misappropriated in desilting of storm water drains when S.M. Krishna was the CM, BBMP land on prime spots had been handed over to political leaders and builders for a pittance, the BJP alleged.
