February 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - BENGALURU:

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has declared the road connecting Bengaluru, Ramanagaram, Channapatna, Mandya, Mysuru, Madikeri, and Mangaluru as national highway.

The Union Ministry has declared the road a national highway taking into account requirement of connectivity.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Pon Radhakrishnan said, “Further, development of national highway is also a continuous process and works are taken up in stretches, keeping in view the requirement of connectivity, inter-State priority and availability of funds. It would be premature to indicate time of completion of the project.”
