February 02, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - Bengaluru:

AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh on Sunday said the government has been asked to hold elections to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) as per the schedule in April.

The Congress poll manifesto had promised bifurcation of the BBMP. A committee headed by former Chief Secretary B.S. Patil had been constituted and an interim report had been submitted.

Mr. Singh said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been told to take steps to improve infrastructure such as drinking water, roads, and power supply in the city by holding discussions with B.PAC.
