BBMP councillor Krishnamurthy was among 10 persons who were injured in an accident involving a multi-utility vehicle and a truck near Kolahal in Chitradurga district on Monday night.
The accident occurred on National Highway 4 when they were returning to Bengaluru from Badami in Bagalkot district.
All the injured are being treated in the district hospital in Chitradurga. Bharamsagar police have registered a case.
The group had reportedly gone to Badami to give an offering to a deity.
