A woman was strangled to death, allegedly by her husband, after a row in their home in Shamanna Garden Thursday night.

Byatarayanapura police said Meher Taj (27), Abdul Aziz (33) and their five children had gone to Shivanasamudram for a picnic and returned late. Meher Taj asked her husband to bring food from outside, while Aziz, an autorickshaw driver, wanted her to cook.

A fight erupted when Aziz told her he had no money and accused her of wasting his money. Objecting to the accusation, Mehar Taj started shouting and Aziz, in a fit of rage, strangled her with a nylon clothesline.

Confessed to a friend

Aziz laid her body next to the sleeping children, went to a friend and confessed. The friend advised him to surrender to the police.
