This is the 26th complaint against Vishalakshi Bhat

April 12, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 01:26 pm IST - Bengaluru:

Noted actor M.K. Sundraraj on Monday filed a cheating complaint with the JP Nagar police against Vishalakshi Bhat, former manager of HDFC Life insurance, her sister Anupama Bhat and husband Srikanth Bhat, accusing them of duping him of Rs. 43 lakhs.

In his statement, Sundraraj said Ms. Bhat approached him through a common friend with attractive insurance packages and investments schemes in October 2015.

Mr. Sundraraj invested in some schemes, including insurance, and deposited Rs. 43 lakh in her bank account, police said.

However, his money was not invested anywhere, police added.

“I met Bhat at a famous actor’s house. She convinced me saying there are different schemes where I can safely deposit my savings. Seeing relatives and family members of big actors investing with her, I agreed to invest,” he said. Further, Sundraraj alleged that Ms. Bhat’s husband Srikanth and elder sister Anupama also convinced him to invest.

The Central Crime Branch police are investigating over 25 complaints in different police stations across the State against Ms. Bhat.

Mr. Sundraraj’s case too would be transferred to the CCB, a senior police officer said.
