Police find blood stains in his car, and also a weapon there

Police on Wednesday found the body of Krishnappa, a city-based businessman who was abducted by an armed gang on Tuesday morning.

The body, which bore multiple injuries, was lying in a drain at Mahadeshwara Layout near Channapatna on the Mysore–Bangalore highway, they said.

Earlier, the Jnanabharati police found Krishnappa’s car near Kengeri. They found blood stains inside, as well as a sharp weapon in there.

The 48-year-old was abducted when he was on the way to a park near his house in ITI Layout to play badminton. A group of armed men attacked him while he was alighting from his car.

Krishnappa’s friends rushed to help, but the gang brandished weapons and told them to keep away. They pushed him inside his car and sped away.

A senior police officer they are investigating if the abduction and murder was owing to Krishnappa’s differences with his second wife, Vrinda, who had filed a harassment case against him. They are trying to trace Vrinda.
