CII National Quality Summit concludes on a spiritual note

The 20th CII National Quality Summit, with the theme ‘Innovation of quality — quality of innovation’, concluded on a spiritual note here on Saturday with Bhikkhu Dhammapala of the Maha Bodhi Society, Bangalore, imparting spiritual advice to the professionals gathered there.

Speaking at the valedictory session, he stressed on the importance of a contented mind, which could help achieve goals and create great leaders.

‘Mind management’ could help professionals deal with time and stress management, while doing good to health and helping make good decisions, he said.

K.N. Shenoy, the former president of the CII, said the focus should not just be on the GDP or the GNP of the country, but also its Gross National Happiness.

Spirituality played a key role in the brand image of India abroad, he added.

Mr. Shenoy said many of the speakers at this edition of the summit were younger professionals, as the organisers wanted new ideas and perspectives to be brought forth.

Over 600 business professionals including CEOs and senior management professionals attended the summit. About nine sessions were conducted, during which 42 national and international speakers spoke on issues such as manufacturing, organisation and the creation of innovation DNA, the future of quality and risk management, among others.
