Barely a day after residents in various parts of the city spent their Sunday taking down illegal posters, banners, stickers and bills as part of a #KillBills campaign, a private eye clinic has pasted its advertisements in many of the empty places in Indiranagar in the city.
The civic group ‘I change Indiranagar’ spent a considerable amount of time on Monday taking down as many posters as they could before the members went to work.
“Thirteen of us had spent all of Sunday under the hot sun taking down billboards in about three big stretches. We had removed more than 100 posters, stickers, billboards and plastic advertisements. The very next morning, we see posters advertising a clinic on the entire stretch along with the gullies and service roads in the area,” said Praveen, member, I Change Indiranagar.
A group of five had removed as many posters as possible before 10 a.m.
Another volunteer Sneha had alerted the others about the fresh disfiguring.
“After removing all posters, huge flexes have been put all over the 100 feet road and the CMH road in Indiranagar. We removed some but there were loads more to go,” posted Sneha, along with photographs of the illegal hoardings.
She also called up the clinic who claimed they would get permission from the mayor.
“The posters are pasted at 4.30 a.m. by a bunch of men. This is becoming quite a menace. The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike had helped by sending workers to clean the roads after the campaign,” added Praveen.
The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike has been alerted about the disfiguring of public property and has promised to penalise the clinic.
