Bengaluru: On the second day of public consultation for the BDA Revised Master Plan 2031, held in Rajajinagar on West Zone, residents raised concern over incomplete information being made available to them.

Vinay Kumar, a resident of Rajajinagar, sought to know why the maps presented by the BDA at the venue, representing the three possible scenarios for development, had not been made available online. "Any good document should stand the scrutiny of proposals made, so we request the BDA to make all the plans available online," said Mr. Kumar. he also sought information from previous master plans to be made public so that citizens could gauge how much had been completed.

Another citizen sought to know why the plans did not take into consideration the development of satellite towns like Kolar and Tumakuru. "Why has the development of these towns not been considered to reduce congestion of Bengaluru?" he asked.

Another sought to know why no information was being provided specifically on plans proposed for Bengaluru West, to which BDA Additional Commissioner Kumar said that zone wise plans would be drawn up after consultation with the public. Mr. Kumar added that the they wanted to conduct traffic impact studies for all new buildings coming up in the city. Residents and corporators also spoke about traffic bottlenecks and problems in water supply in their neighbourhoods.
