A 34-year-old sales executive was found brutally murdered in his house in Peenya on Monday night.

The deceased, Varadaraju, a native of Ramanagar and residing in a rented house in MIE layout, Peenya, was alone at the time of incident. His wife had gone out to buy groceries. The assailants reportedly barged into the house, overpowered Varadaraju and slit his throat, killing him on the spot.

The murder came to light when Suma, his wife, returned home after 20 minutes. She found him lying in a pool of blood. She raised an alarm and neighbours rushed to the spot and took him to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

The Peenya police have taken up a case and investigating. The police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the murder. “We are not ruling out the possibility of the involvement of family members,” a police officer said.

Varadaraju was an sales executive for a healthcare product and had married Suma four years ago. The couple have a one-and-half year child. They left the child at Suma's parents house as both were working, the police added.
