Bengaluru: Following criticism about the condition of Church Street, one of the main shopping hubs in the Central Business District, the civic body on Tuesday began renovating the path under the TenderSURE project.

The 715-metre-long road will have a uniform 5.5-metre-wide roadway with a pedestrian pathway ranging in width from 2.5 to 4 metres. The road will have 10 parking bays that will accommodate 103 two-wheelers and 32 four-wheelers. The stretch will be lit with LED lamps. In addition to the TenderSURE parameters, the road will be white-topped at an extra cost of Rs. 1 crore.

Bengaluru Development Minister K.J. George said that the work will be completed within six months.
