Bengaluru: The girl who was molested by two youths on December 31 at Kammanahalli turned up for the identification parade on Tuesday. The parade was conducted at Parappana Agrahara Central prison in the presence of an inquest official who is a tahsildhar.
The victim reportedly identified the main accused as Aiyappa and his accomplice Lenin alias Leno. The had followed her victim on their bike after she got out of an auto-rickshaw near her PG accommodate on the night of December 31.
She also identified the duo's friends who were around when the attack took place.
According to the police, the girl was molested and then pushed violently when she resisted the attack.
Prior to this, three identification parades had been organised in the prison after the arrest of the suspects, but the victim did not show up.
Over the past few weeks, the Banaswadi police had been trying to convince her to identify her attackers and assured her that her identity wouldn't be compromised.
A police officer said, "The crime was captured on a CCTV camera. The footage sparked nation-wide outrage. We did not want the case to fall apart due to the victim's non-cooperation, which is understandable due to concerns about her safety.”
According to sources, the victim did not show any uneasiness while identifying her tormentors.
