A 26-year-old event manager was arrested by Ramamurthy Nagar police for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl after offering her a glass of milk laced with sedative on Sunday (February 5).
The accused, Pragadish Kapoor, was arrested within few hours of the victim filing a complaint with the city police.
The accused had lured the victim, who is from Mumbai and pursuing a fashion design course in the city, by offering her a modelling assignment.
On Feb. 5, the accused took the victim to his house in the pretext of discussing the assignment and offered her a glass of milk spiked with sedative.
After the victim slipped into unconsciousness, Kapoor allegedly sexually assaulted her and also took a video of her.
The incident came to light when Kapoor started blackmailing the victim with the video and demanded sexual favours.
The victim narrated the ordeal to her friend, who advised her to approach the police. The victim filed a complaint on Tuesday (Feb 7).
The Ramamurthy Nagar police arrested Kapoor under POCSO and seized his laptop and found several objectionable video clips of other women/girls.
The police suspect that the accused had used the same modus operandi to lure and blackmail models and students. The investigations are, the police said.
