Acknowledging that people affected by fire-related tragedy often do not seek help, fire advocacy group Beyond Carlton has decided to offer free counselling services to fire accident victims and their families.

“As possibly the only citizens body that was born out of a fire tragedy, our movement recognises the grief and trauma that victims and families need to overcome,” said Uday Vijayan, managing trustee of Beyond Carlton, in a press release. “Most often, we do not seek professional help to return to normal living. It is with this purpose that we believe that a free counselling service may help many to carry on their living with respect,” he added.

Anupama Sanjeev, a psychologist with more then eight years of experience, has joined them in the initiative. Those who would like to join for counselling can visit the website www.beyondcarlton.org
