A 23-year-old engineering student was killed and three of his friends injured when they lost control of their car and rammed into a tree on Taralabalu Road, R.T. Nagar, on Monday night. The deceased, Sunil Kumar, a mechanical engineering student and a resident of Anand Nagar, had gone on a joy ride with his friends — Goutham, Vignesh and Anoop — also engineering students.
The injured have been admitted to a private hospital and said to be critical.
According to the police, Vignesh was driving the car. Passers-by rushed to their help and alerted the police before shifting the victims to the hospital where Sunil succumbed later.
