The NS Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL) at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), along with investment bank Goldman Sachs, on Sunday selected 15 women entrepreneurs and their ideas for incubation over the next year in the final phase of its Women Startup Programme.
The programme is a training event to encourage women entrepreneurs which was launched in November 2016.
The programme received more than 1,700 applications, said a release from IIMB. As many as 50 women entrepreneurs were chosen to attend a three-week boot camp and their number was whittled down to 15.
The selected entrepreneurs will receive a fellowship of ₹40,000 a month.
“Technology, either as the core business idea or using technology to scale, was a key theme in the programme. Many ideas also focused on community, said Suresh Bhagavatula, Chairperson, Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Development, NSRCEL at IIMB, in the release.
