N. Yuvaraj on Thursday assumed charge as Vice-Chairman of the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority.

In a brief interaction with mediapersons after assuming charge, Mr. Yuvaraj said he would work in a transparent manner, taking stakeholders’ views into consideration and try to meet the growing demands in the urban areas. Stakeholders could directly meet him, he said.

Mr. Yuvaraj said he had spoken to his predecessor Kona Sasidhar and acquainted himself with the ongoing projects, the status of LRS, and the income tax issue, among other things.

A difficult area

Terming urban development a difficult area in the fastest urbanising country, he said a multi-pronged approach was required to meet the growing demands. Andhra Pradesh figured after Gujarat and Tamil Nadu in urbanisation in the country, he added.

VUDA Secretary G.C. Kishore Kumar, Chief Engineer I. Viswanatha Rao, Chief Urban Planner R.J. Vidyullatha, Chief Accounts Officer D. Vijayabharati, Estate Officer B. Bhavani Das, and DFO B.V.A. Krishna Murthy greeted Mr. Yuvaraj.
