Youth empowerment programme held

Regular counselling sessions will help students channelise their thoughts and control their negative emotions, according to PRISM Degree and PG College correspondent D. Satyanarayana Reddy. He was addressing students of the college at a youth empowerment programme organised here on Thursday. He said that separate sessions for boys and girls would be held to promote healthier minds.

M. Radhika, obstetrician and gynaecologist and infertility specialist of Manipal Hospitals, and Jyothi Doki, obstetrician and gynaecologist of Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Institute, addressed the girls and spoke on health and behavioural aspects.

They briefed on leading a healthy lifestyle by choosing the right food and maintaining personal hygiene. The doctors also created awareness on cervical cancer and steps followed to prevent it. College principal B. Umabala and staff members were present.
