‘Your wages first, then only our salary’

March 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 07:27 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Participating in a community lunch with sanitation workers on Sunday, Municipal Commissioner Pravin Kumar assured them that their wages would be paid by the 5th or 10th of every month.

He and other officials would take salaries only after that.

Addressing over 5,000 workers at the GVMC, he praised their services early in the morning and late at night.

PF contributions and corporate medical services through ESI would also be ensured. Mr. Pravin Kumar said a meeting would be organised to put on record their services in the aftermath of Cyclone Hudhud.

Such meetings would be organised once in every three months. Chief Medical Officer (Health) M. S. Raju, Additional Commissioner (General) G.V.V.S. Murthy and other officials participated.
