March 17, 2013 12:26 pm | Updated 12:26 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

The annual convention of Computer Society of India (CSI) will be hosted in the city by the city chapter of Computer Society of India in association with Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited in December.

The theme of the three-day convention is ‘IT for excellence.’ The colourfully-designed brochure with various details on the convention was released by RINL Director (Operations) Umesh Chandra in the presence of secretary of National Committee CSI Headquarters S.R. Ramanathan and president-elect of National Committee CSI Headquarters H.R. Mohan here on Saturday at Ukkunagaram.

The annual convention is a forum to bring together the researchers, engineers, software developers and practitioners from academia and industry. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Umesh Chandra said the annual convention and other national meets would help in sharing knowledge on latest practices in IT across the country.

Dr. Ramanathan expressed confidence that the Visakhapatnam Chapter of CSI with the all-round support of the PSU giant Visakhapatnam Steel Plant would make the annual convention a most memorable event.

Mr. Mohan said the Visakhapatnam Chapter had proved its worth by organising several mega events related to IT successfully. RINL Deputy General Manager (IT) Suman Das welcomed and CSI convention-2013 convener Paramata Satyanarayana proposed a vote of thanks.
