Federation of Indian Fishery Industries president Y.G.K. Murti said in view of depleting catch and abnormal increase in cost of operations, the fishing industry should be given a bailout package. He urged the Chief Minister to increase reimbursement of value added tax on diesel utilised by the fishing boats, in accordance with and proportionate to the revised diesel prices.VAT reimbursement
He also wanted VAT reimbursement to all the fishing boats instead of restricting it to a few.
