Vizag gears up for ‘Samaikya garjana’

Non-political JAC organising the meeting at R.K Beach on Saturday

All arrangements have been made for the conduct of ‘Visakha Samaikya Garjana’, being organised by the non-political JAC, near the Kalimatha temple at R.K. Beach from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Samaikya Rashtra Parirakshana Vedika chairman and APNGOs president K. Ashok Babu will address the meeting. Various JACs like Visakha Muslim JAC, BC Ikya Federation, CII, APEPDCL, Visakhapatnam Bar Association, Judicial Employees’ Association, Government Teachers’ JAC, AP Recognised Un-aided Schools Management Association (APUSMA), Junior and Degree Colleges Associations, Engineering Colleges, AU Ikya Vidhyarthi Front, AU Teaching JAC, AU Non-Teaching JAC, AP Private Schools’ Association, AP Affiliated Colleges’ Association, Vizag Journalists’ Forum, Rushikonda, IT Parks Association, various sports Associations, Cine Exhibitors’ Association, CA Associations, Cloth and Gold Merchants’ Association, Shops and Establishments’ Association, Builders’ Association and APUSMA are extending their support to the meeting, according to non-political JAC general secretary P. Vishnu Kumar Raju.

Call for success

He thanked the Doctors’ JAC for arranging to keep ambulances ready at the meeting venue in case of any emergency. Water packets have also been kept at different locations. He appealed to all sections of the people from the city and neighbouring areas to attend and make the meeting a grand success.

Traffic regulations

There will be traffic regulations between 1.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. Vehicles will not be allowed on the Beach Road between Kalimatha temple and The Park hotel, vehicles will not be allowed from All India Radio towards the beach, all buses coming for the meeting have to stop at the Cyclone Warning Centre and the participants have to walk down the venue.

The buses can be parked at Andhra University grounds. All four wheelers and two-wheelers can be parked at APIIC open place (near Forest Office).

No matinee shows

Cinema theatres in the city will not screen the matinee show, according to Visakha Exhibitors’ Welfare Association president J.N. Choudhary and secretary Anantam. While the matinee shows will be cancelled all other shows will be screened as usual. Members of the association will take out a rally to the meeting venue in support of Samaikyandhra. All shops in the city will be closed between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to enable more people to participate in the garjana, according to M.V. Narayana Rao, honorary secretary of the Vizagapatam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
