Visteel Mahila Samiti on Monday distributed bunk beds, play items and other materials to Desire Society, a home for children suffering from HIV. Visteel president Lata Choudhary visited the home at Gajuwaka and interacted with the 16 boys and girls residing there and distributed all the items under the corporate social responsibility programme of RINL.
Speaking on the occasion, she lauded the challenging task of taking care of HIV affected children, in a society where there is still stigma. She enquired about the functioning of the NGO and medical care being provided for the children. Coordinator Nagaraju explained to her about their efforts to provide nutritional, health and education to the children to improve their overall quality of their life. VMS vice-president Sushma Chauhan and executive members were present.
Later, Ms. Choudhary distributed dual desks, hockey kits, cooking utensils and glasses to Zilla Parishat High School at Elamanchili.
The school has strength of 320 students and provides mid-day meal but did not have sufficient cooking utensils. Sensing lack of facilities in the school, VMS came forward to render help to the students under CSR initiative of RINL.
