: A student of a private engineering college in Vijayawada, who was doing project work at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, was killed when an SVU coming in the opposite direction had reportedly hit the bike he was riding on the ghat road in the Sunkarametta area under Araku Valley Police Station limits on Saturday.
The second year B.Tech. student of IT branch, M. Sai Tarun (21) had gone to Araku for a visit of tourist spots.
Burglars held
The CCS police on Saturday arrested two youths —Gorle Pydiraju (24) of Vizianagaram and Koda Raju (30) of Visakhapatnam —and recovered from them abut 180 grams of gold ornaments and three motorcycles, they had allegedly stolen from houses in MVP Colony, Pendurthi, Chodavaram and other places.
It was alleged that the two would conduct a recce during the day and commit burglary at night.
Pydiraju is a habitual offender and was involved in more than 40 burglaries in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Hyderabad and was arrested several times.
While in Central Jail here, he befriended Raju, an accused in a murder case, and after his release from the jail in February, Pydiraju burgled several houses during April and May.
