An under-trainee sailors block was inaugurated at INS Vishwakarma, at Eastern Naval Command by Vice Admiral HCS Bisht, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of ENC, on Thursday. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Flag Officers and personnel of the ENC.

The newly constructed three-storey building named 'Vishal’ has all modern amenities such as spacious dining hall, state-of-art galley, recreation room, reading room and play area for the in-living Junior Sailors.

Complying with the ‘green norms’, the building has been constructed using fly-ash bricks, has large glass windows to ensure natural light and has been designed to provide sufficient ventilation.

Arboriculture has been carried out in the building premises and water sprinklers provide water through rainwater harvesting tank. Solar water heaters for galley and wash spaces have also been provided to reduce consumption of electricity.
