A man and his nephew died in an accident near Raja Bahadur Cheruvu junction on the National Highway under Pendurthi police station limits here on Saturday.
The victims have been identified as J. Govind and his uncle J. Venkatramana. According to the police the duo were driving towards the city from Pendurthi on a motorbike, when they were hit by a loaded lorry. The incident occurred at about 11 a.m.
“It was a hit and run case, as the driver of the lorry did not stop after the accident. We are following up the case and hopefully the driver will be arrested shortly,” said Inspector (Traffic) of Pendurthi police station.
