Two held on charge of stealingmobile phones

Two persons, including a juvenile, were arrested by the Three Town Police and 16 stolen mobiles were seized from them on Thursday.

Giving details to the media, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (crimes) S. Varada Raju said that Sankar Nonia (40) of West Bengal and his associate, a juvenile from Jharkhand, were taken into custody near the Seethammadhara Rythu Bazaar and expensive brands of mobile phones like Samsung, Apple, and Nokia were seized from their possession.

The modus operandi of the duo was to pick the pockets of public at the busy and crowded places including Rythu Baazars. The police said that the duo had sold some of the stolen phones in Southern Odisha for easy money.

The crime wing police nabbed the duo and recovered the phones acting on a tip-off.

The Three Town Police are investigating the case.
