An 11-month-old toddler was kidnapped from the cellar of a building at Pithapuram Colony on Thursday. B. Navdeep was suspected to have been kidnapped by two women vendors.

Navdeep’s father Rambabu, a worker at a tiles showroom, is a resident of Mangapuram Colony. He went to his father Appa Rao’s house at Pithapuram Colony along with his son and other family members on Wednesday. Appa Rao is employed as a watchman at an apartment and stays in the cellar of the same apartment.

Appa Rao was playing with his grandson in the cellar. He went to the first floor of the building to attend to some work, leaving behind his grandson. On return, he found his grandson missing. The family members searched for the boy in vain and finally lodged a complaint with the police.

The boy’s relatives suspect that petty vendors, who had visited the area to buy human hair, could have lifted the boy. MVP Colony Inspector KP Naidu and his team are examining the CCTV footage at the apartment to zero in on the accused.
