It is going to be a team work in the district, the importance of which has gone up in the new State,” new Collector N. Yuvaraj has sidsaid on Monday.

“We need to build a team, liaison with all departments and PSUs. This is a challenging district and people’s expectations are very high”, Dr. Yuvaraj told reporters after taking charge from Joint Collector Pravin Kumar, who was Collector in-charge after the previous Collector S. Solomon Arokia Raj left after being transferred to Anantapur as Collector.

Additional Joint Collector Y. Narasimha Rao and other officials greeted Dr. Yuvaraj.

Priority areas

“Crucial is to bring investments to the district and facilitate land for the many projects that are expected here. At the same time we have to protect the Government land from being encroached. Health in tribal area, agriculture, accidents in the industries that are happening frequently in the recent past, improving KGH and other hospitals, protecting interests of fishermen are the priorities. Feedback from the people will also be taken”, he said.

Regarding land protection, he warned that no leniency or laxity would be tolerated and serious action would be taken against officer or employee if any discrepancy was found. On the land not being used by some allottees in the IT Park, he said that since the land was given by APIIC it has to take a call. Notices were issued to those who had not yet started utilising the land, he reminded. If necessary, PD Act would be invoked against encroachers. Tuesday’s visit by ministers and IT Secretary would provide guidelines in improving the IT sector in the city, he felt.

Governance would be simplified by involving IT and everything would go to public domain, he assured. If possible, petitions received here would be scanned and forwarded to the Tehsildars concerned.

On the health scene in the Agency area, he felt that the three Ds-doctors, drugs and diagnostic facility were on time, lot of problem is solved.

Grievance redressal

The Dial Your Collector and Prajavani (public grievance redressal programme) on Mondays would be continued. An hour before these programmes, he would hold video or tele conference with Tehsildars and MPDOs, Mr. Yuvaraj said.
