Visakha Tourism Festival, a mega event, will be jointly organised by Vizagpatam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with the district administration and AP Tourism Development Corporation, from March 23 to 25.
Chamber vice-president Arisetty Srirama Murthy, honorary secretary M.V. Narayana Rao, Tourism Committee chairman G.L.N. Raju and Coordinator S. Ravindra gave details of the event at a press conference on Friday. All ministers from North Andhra are expected to participate.
They said the festival was being planned as a combined effort by all sections to showcase Visakhapatnam as a tourist destination and offering a shopping opportunity.
Kavi sammelan
The festival will begin with a kavi sammelanam at Port Kala Vani auditorium on the morning of Telugu New Year on March 23 in the presence of all participating associations. Visakha Air Travellers Association president Ch. Ramakotaiah will organise the kavi sammelanam.
