The district committee of CPI (M) on Thursday said the indictment of the State government by the Comptroller and Auditor-General (CAG) in his annual report for irregularities in the allotment of 50 acres near the city to erstwhile Satyam had vindicated the party's stand.
District secretary Ch. Narsinga Rao said that CPI (M) had exposed the ‘scam' in January 2009 and had also brought it to the notice of the party's national leadership. CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat had also written an open letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take immediate action.
Mr. Rao stated that the land was given to Satyam at a throwaway price so as benefit the company by Rs.165 crores and demanded that the government take possession of the land immediately.
He demanded action against people responsible for the irregular allotment and sought a probe into all the land deals, where allotments were done with a vested interest. Mr. Rao said allotments should be cancelled if there was any irregularity.
