The accused allegedly takes to burglaries to meet wedding expenses of his sister

A youth takes to crime to fulfil his ‘responsibility’ of meeting the wedding expenses of his sister! He has so far burgled six houses.

V. Anil alias Samuel (25) of Gopalapatnam has studied up to class 10. His father is a security guard at a private company and his mother a housewife. He is married to Pavani and has no children.

He took to alcohol because of financial problems. To fulfil his responsibility of performing his sister’s marriage, he started committing burglaries to raise money, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crimes) J. Muralidhar told a media conference here on Wednesday. Gopalapatnam SI and his team arrested the accused at 7.45 a.m. following credible information.

Based on the confession of the accused, the police recovered stolen necklaces, a gold ring, gold chain, ear studs, all weighing 106 gm, and silver articles weighing 338 gm, in six cases under the Gopalapatnam police station limits.

It was learnt that the accused was involved in two burglaries under Pendurthi and Kancharapalem police stations in the past.
