Srinivasa Raju appointed ACA team’s manager

He will take part in South Zone Ranji fixtures

Andhra Cricket Association on Friday appointed Visakhapatnam Steel Plant’s Deputy Manager (Sports) Srinivasa Raju as administratative manager to Andhra Ranji one day team which will take part in the South Zone fixtures at Chennai from February 25 to March 16. Raju began his career in cricket as an organiser-cum- player in Kavilien Cricket Club, one of the oldest clubs in Vizag. Several first class players cut their teeth under his guidance before getting a place in the Ranji team.

Along with cricket he also supports players involved in other games like shuttle, football and basketball, representing the plant. Apart from Ispat Sports Club, he is an organiser of four clubs in Visakhapatnam taking part in the district’s first division matches. As recognition to his services, he was appointed as joint secretary of Vizianagaram Cricket Club, the oldest cricket club in North Andhra.
