A sports city on the lines of the one at Gachi Bowli and urban housing will be taken up through land-pooling in 1600 acres at Tri Junction near Sabbavaram, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said asserting he would directly oversee the entire process without any scope for corruption.

Addressing a meeting after giving away 9054 house-site pattas in the third phase of urban land regularisation at Andhra University Engineering College grounds on Thursday, he said the sports city would help host international events. All the benefits given under land-pooling at Amaravati would be given.

He said one lakh houses would be constructed in the city. In the three phases under various GOs a total of 60,965 pattas were given away in the name of women accounting for 44.26 lakh square yards worth ₹10,600 crore, he said.

For all the patta-holders conveyance deed would also be given enabling them to sell the site after the lock-in period.

In the rural areas of the district 32,727 pattas were given and under the Recognition of Forest Rights Act (RoFR) 37,000 girijans were given pattas for 79,000 acres and another 4,500 would be given adding 13,000 acres more, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said.

The ‘Panchagramala’ land issue would also be resolved and the issue was in court, he said. All over the State, 3.55 lakh pattas were given and another 28137 were ready. Pattas with rights would also be given to 1.14 lakh acre to joint farming societies.

The Chief Minister dwelt at length on the welfare schemes of his government, including ‘Chandranna Pellikanuka’ and unemployment allowance, with the poor at the centre of all schemes and how he was trying to use technology to usher in transparent and corruption-free systems to benefit them. People should reciprocate supporting the government that was working for them.

The ₹ 2022 crore Uttarandhra Sujala Sravanthi scheme was in ‘tender stage’ and it would bring Godavari water to the city meeting and irrigation needs.

Jobs for youth

With a number of information technology (IT) companies including some big names coming up employment opportunities for youth would improve in the city itself, he said. The coming up of LuLu mall and convention centre would also contribute to employment, he said.

TDP pulled out of the NDA as the Modi Government went back on the promises made at the time of bifurcation, including Special Category Status. He referred to the leader of Opposition on a padayatra involved in corruption and lacking experience making tall promises. In an oblique reference to Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan, he said even those who came afresh were also quite critical though the State was leading in development, welfare and good governance.

Land for Olympian

The Chief Minister at the meeting announced allotment of 500 sq. yards to Olympian and former sports officer of VPT M.V. Manikyalu.

Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishna Murthy said during the four years the TDP Government worked for the development of the State and welfare of people.

Deputy Chief Minister N. China Rajappa, Ministers Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu and Ganta Srinivasa Rao, MLAs Banadaru Satyanarayana Murthy, V. Ganesh Kumar and P. Rameshbabu, BJP Floor Leader in the Assembly P. Vishnu Kumar Raju were present.
