Special campaign will be organised for two days on April 19 and 26 (both Sundays) at the polling booths in the district as part of National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP, District Revenue Officer K. Nageswara Rao said
The Election Commission of India introduced NERPAP in Visakhapatnam, Chittoor and Krishna districts during the first phase of the programme in the State to ensure a totally error-free electoral rolls.
The DRO said Elector’s Photo Identity Cards (EPIC, the voter ID card) and Aadhaar cards of nearly 5.25 lakh voters in the district had been linked since the NERPAP commenced in the district in early March.
Apart from linking Aadhaar with EPIC, the programme would also facilitate voluntary deletion of multiple entries in the electoral roll, correction of errors in the electoral roll and improvement of image quality of photograph of the elector in the electoral data.
There are several methods available for a voter to get his or her EPIC and Aadhaar card linked, like logging on tohttp://164.100.132.184/epicorwww.nvsp.inand following the directions given to complete the seeding of Aadhaar card; sending through SMS the voter card and Aadhaar numbers to 08970499899 by typing SEED EPIC (space) (EPIC number) (space) (Aadhaar number); calling the help desks at Hyderabad (1950) or at the district-level 180042500001 where the call centre personnel will link the two numbers through the online portal; and logging on to the National Voter Service Portal and filling up the form that is meant for EPIC-Aadhaar link.
During the special campaign days, Booth Level Officers would be available at the polling booths to guide voters in linking their Aadhaar and EPIC cards.
They would receive applications from voters with details of Aadhaar and voter ID cards, mobile number and email id and also to remove multiple entries in voters’ list and correct mistakes in the voters list. All the necessary forms like Form Nos. 6, 6A,7, 8 and 8A will be provided to the voters.
