Vintage Visakha on Tuesday organised a demonstration of solar cooker at its office at Abidnagar.

President of Vintage Visakha Y.V.S.R. Moorthy developed an economic model in 1983 when he was head of the Mechanical Department and coordinator of Centre for Development of Rural Technology at Government Polytechnic College here.

Since then Mr. Moorty has been using it to prepare ‘prasadam’ on every Saptami to offer to the Sun god. It takes nearly two-and-a-half hours to cook rice, dal etc. The food cooked on solar cooker will be rich in D vitamin. Praja Spandana president C.S. Rao who started the demonstration in the morning said it would greatly help in energy conservation. For details, contact Vintage Visakha (2748716, 2549216).
