Children using mobiles, a tab or a computer to play games and log on to social media groups at home are now being induced to go through their lessons, in an interesting and innovative way.

This is an assessment tool for teachers and parents and make children learn with joy, claim the representatives of a school education provider. “Children’s attention span is less and what they learn depends on how the teacher engages them. For the children born in internet generation, technology is being used to bring them back to the book,” said Head (school partnerships) Ramesh Varma and Senior Domain Lead (product innovation) Santosh Subramanian of the EZ Vidya, about the tool Chrysalis Buzzle here on Thursday.

The tool is meant for children in the KG to V standards and the content is based on NCERT’s National Curriculum Framework of 2005. Any smart phone with some basic features like Android and iOS and good camera is enough for using the tool. With the help of Buzzle, a child can hear a poem and understand the correct pronunciation, meaning of difficult words, etc. In case of mathematics, the pupil can upload a problem and get to know the correct answer and different ways of solving a problem. Like in social media one child can get into contact with many anywhere in the world and this helps to know different solutions. Similar to the ‘like’ in facebook, one can get ‘high five’.

Assessment

The teacher can assess the child’s performance and the parents will know how their child is being assessed and where it has to improve. The teacher will also get different kinds of answers. This tool will provide a chance to the pupils to think in different ways which is not possible in classroom dynamics.

EZ Vidya has already introduced Chrysalis textbooks to make studying more interesting for children and is scheduled to introduce the Chrysalis Buzzle tool during the next academic year.
