Six workers were injured when a fire broke out at a tyre factory at Rebeka village in Anakapalli mandal on Tuesday. The incident occurred around 1.30 pm, when the workers were removing a bolt in a crude oil tanker with the help of welding equipment.
According to Anakapalli Mandal Revenue Officer C Satyanarayana, four persons were severely injured and suffered 80 % burns.
The injured were identified as S Srininvas (42), auto driver, and Kona Madhu (19), helper, (both residents of Rebeka) Other four victims are residents of Gajuwaka area and they are M Kumar(19), K Srinu (18), T Govind (24) and T Gopi (19).
According to Revenue Divisional Officer N.V. Suryakala, all the injured were admitted to NTR hospital in Anakapalli.
Of them four persons who were seriously injured were shifted to KGH for better treatment.
Doctors at KGH said condition of the three injured persons was critical.
