Trade licences of shops will be cancelled if parking space is not provided in commercial complexes where they are located, Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana said on Saturday after he found parking space absent in some commercial complexes during his inspection in several business areas of the city.
When he found no arrangements were made for parking vehicles in the cellar of a building on Dabagardens main road in which Jyothi Book Depot was located earlier, he told the officials to cancel trade licences of all shops in the building and also seize the building. Mr. Satyanarayana also ordered removal of a cloth showroom set up in the cellar of the adjacent building. He examined parking facilities in the cellars of Pavan Complex and Ram’s Arcade buildings.
Going around Jagadamba junction, the Commissioner found that cellars of many buildings were unhygienic and pulled up the public health staff. He instructed officials to issue notices to owners of the buildings to improve sanitation immediately and cancel trade licences of shops in the buildings and seize the buildings if there was no response to the notices.
The Commissioner wanted greenery on the traffic island improved. He later inspected the road beautification work and sanitary conditions at KGH area, Dandu Bazaar, Green Park road, Nowroji road, H.B. Colony and other areas.
Zonal Commissioners Y. Srinivasa Rao and Ravindra, Chief Medical Officer M. Satyanarayana Raju, Assistant Director (horticulture) Damodar, Executive Engineers Krishna Rao and Chandramouli, Assistant City Planners Deva Kumar and Rehaman, Assistant Medical Officers A. Srinivas and Ramamohan Rao accompanied the Commissioner.
