Screening camp for the disabled held

Over 3,000 persons have been examined at a camp conducted by ALIMCO. Specialist doctors like orthopaedic, ENT, ophthalmologist and others conducted the camp where they examined over 3,000 persons with disabilities.

A screening camp for identifying disability to provide aids like artificial limbs was organised by Artificial Limb Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) at Anakapalle on Friday.

ALIMCO, under the aegis of the Union Ministry for Social Justice and Empowerment, on the request of Anakapalle MP M. Srinivasa Rao organised the first screening camp. It would also be conducting similar camps at Narsipatnam, Payakaraopeta, and Chodavaram. Payakaraopeta MLA V. Anita, Payakaraopeta Municipal Vice-Chairperson Ch. Sanyasi Patrudu, ALIMCO general manager Suvarna Latha, MPP S. Ravanamma, AD PHC and Narsipatnam RDO among others were present along with Anakapalle MP.
