Union Minister for Housing and Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu on Friday inaugurated “Parimala,” the flower show, organised at VUDA Park as a part of Visakha Utsav.

Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas, MPs K Haribabu and Muttamsetti Srinivsa Rao, MLAs P. Vishnukumar Raju, P. Rameshbabu, Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy and Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar, VUDA Vice-Chairman T. Baburao Naidu, actor Saikumar and former MP Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad were present.

Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said Visakhapatnam was always a happening city and had the potential to grow into a global city.

Appreciating the people of Vizag for their tenacity in the face of cyclone Hudhud, he said the Utsav would help send a message to the world that the city was a favourite location for investment.

About 120 flower arrangements are in display in the show.

Nearly 50 stalls have been set up for sale and exhibition of various product and food items near the flower show.

VUDA DFO B Raja Rao, Horticulture Officer G.V. Lakshmi and Forest Range officer A. Ganesh were instrumental in its organisation.
