Minister for Stamps and Registration Thota Narasimham has said that the government disbursed Rs.103 crores among farmers in the district towards input subsidy.
After laying the foundation stone for 14 additional rooms in Kamarajupet ZP High School in Gokavaram mandal on Thursday, the Minister said that the government was according top priority to welfare of farmers. He said they were trying to give minimum support price and purchase discoloured paddy from farmers. Civil supply officials were asked to purchase paddy with 4-10 per cent moisture content.
Stating that the government of the day in 2003 had given only Rs.1,500 per acre towards crop damage, the Minister said that the YSR Government had given Rs.4,500 per acre and the present government increased it to Rs.6,000.
The Minister said that the government released Rs.35 lakhs for development of schools in Jaggampeta and a similar amount for Kirlampudi and Gokavaram schools.
The Minister disbursed Rs.46.51 lakhs among 3,774 farmers in Gokavaram mandal. Village sarpanch J. Subhadra Prasad, ZPTC G. Yedukondalu, MPTC M. Sanyasi Rao, Agriculture Officer A. Sirisha and others participated.
