Rosaiah opens art gallery

Chief Minister K. Rosaiah inaugurated Patnaik Art Gallery at MVP Colony on Tuesday.

After inaugurating the gallery, the Chief Minister went around seeing the paintings in oil and water and the bronze pieces of sculpture. He released a brochure on the gallery.

He interacted with retired lecturer of sculpture C.S.N. Patnaik who has recently shifted from Guntur and set up the gallery and his son Ravisankar Patnaik, Head of Department of Fine Arts of Andhra University.

“I have known him during my more than four decades of stay at Guntur and he knows about my work. He expressed his happiness for coming here and seeing the gallery,” the senior Patnaik said.

A private gallery that is intended to educate artists and promote art, it has 500 to 600 paintings and 100 bronzes.

Major Industries Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana and Tribal Welfare Minister P. Balaraju and district Collector J. Syamala Rao were present.
