Away from school and packed study schedule, M. Sai Saketh, a Class X student, is finally relieved to spend quality time engaging in his favourite activity – robotics.

Sai Saketh says that robotics is the arena he looks forward to lay his hands on when he grows up and the workshop he joined recently is a step in this direction.

Working in tandem with the trainer, those who joined the two-week-long free robotics workshop, hosted by the Academy of Robotics, consider the platform an opportunity to enhance their creative learning and interpersonal skills.

R. Siddarth, a Class VI student of Alwardas Public School, is busy working on a windmill model at his desk.

“I enjoy discovering new things. Fortunately, the workshop I opted to enrol this vacation is in line with my area of interest,” Siddarth beams with excitement.

Healthy combo

Combining fun and education, the Academy of Robotics initiated the summer workshop to celebrate Robotics Week. “The focus is not just to inculcate interest in robotics among students but also to develop team spirit and foster healthy competition which are required to stand out in the competitive world,” reasons M. Srikanth, director and national head of Academy of Robotics Private Limited.

Mr. Srikanth says many are showing keen interest in pursuing it as a future domain.

“Since robotics is a combination of various branches such as creative engineering, science, electronics, visualisation, programming and architecture, the field gives a picture of various branches and aids in grooming the students to become future researchers, entrepreneurs and designers. Working on various models at the workshop allows participants to share ideas, pick up innovative concepts, gain hands-on experience and overcome multiple challenges with ease,” observes Mr. Srikanth.

Supported by the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), the free workshop will continue at Academy of Robotics located near Rama Talkies junction till April 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in batches.
